Day and Night.

Today's photo is about tonight. However the post is about today. So I started my day tiered as hell. I went to bed way to late and woke up way to early. I realized I needed to read two chapters for homework due tomorrow. So I put my book aside to make sure I grabbed it on my way out. I could barely keep my eyes open I was so tired but I didn't have time to make some coffee. I decided to take some NoDoze. I hurried and grabbed my book and got on the train.  I sat down opened my bag and realized I grabbed a different book even though I put the correct one aside. Then the conductor asked if I needed to buy a ticket. I said no thinking I had a 10-ride ticket. I actually did not. In fact I had no tickets nor did I have any money... I  had to get off the train the next stop to buy a ticket and sit in the station for an hour. So the rest of the day went on and I stated to feel Like I was coked out from that NoDoze. It felt like the bad terrible feeling was never going to stop. Oh but it did. I crashed so hard in the middle of helping my boss with his photoshoot which was in a dark completely black room while some amazing band from Germany called mouse on mars played soothing music that was a mix of classical and something like anamanaguchi or crystal castles. So I'm sure every one in Woodstock knows that last weekend was the big groundhog's day. yup that ok movie with the girl with the terrible hair. straiten that shit bitch. Any who. So there were walking tours with different signs where the movie was shot. There was a sign by this ally that said "Old Man's Ally" yup..... I'm just going to leave the rest up to your imagination.

Yesterday

So here is the deal with yesterday. I didn't post. obviously. I worked, I was tired, and I also got an overpriced super nintendo. Don't even act like you would keep posting the day you got a super nintendo!  Now don't worry I'm going to make up for it. I know how much all of you crave my photos.

So usually when I play video games I do so when Dana is not home. She just isn't that into them.  actually she hates them.  Well.. she either hates them or really enjoys calling me a nerd so she just acts like she hates them. Which I am kinda thinking it is an act. We were just playing wii sports... turns out she is a pro at every single sport.  so whos the nerd now POINDEXTER! 

This is dana's passport photograph I took of her. She is leaving me for an exotic pacific islander who wears awkwardly short shorts and is able to climb palm trees barefoot some how. Thats fine with me tiki bob have my nerdy girlfriend!!!!  I am just kidding I just wanted to take photos of her again to fool around with Lightroom. Still getting a hang of it. I do like how I can put my own logo instead of the lightroom one.

Don't you think that the world would be a much more awkward place if people only knocked once on doors. "Thump"   and thats it. Isnt weird that its common to knock on a door more than once. If some one knocked once on my door id be like wtf why did u knock once weirdo. 

This photo is of my girlfriend wearing a scarecrow mask I made last year for halloween. It smells very bad. Also some one needs to entertain me right now. I'm sitting in my apartment all alone right now and every one is busy. LAME. 

So today I saw a photo of me in in high school. I was a lot thinner then.. I don't think im fat now but I def. do not have that sexy school girl figure I once had. Ill just keep this diet of coffee, booze, and just one meal a day. Seems healthy.

I was trying to get off the el car but every one trying to get on the train wouldn't get out of the way. Hey jack asses you can't get on until I get off. For realz though people like stand with their noeses practically touching the doors waiting for them to open. Whats the rush? I till prlly break down between stops any way.

Charter School Parents Protest at My Work

I work at the central office for all the Chicago public schools. This morning there was a protest to support charter schools with in CPS schools system. And yes that is super man. One of the parents decided that the best way for the CPS board of education to respect their cause was to dress like a super hero. and is it just me or does this guy look like Vince Vaughn. Like a chubby brown Vince Vaughn.

This is not the post for today

Just wanted to give somthing for people to read if they check the blog before I updated it. I woke up at 6am today and I am a very sleepy boy. I'm hoping today is a slow day at work so I can catch up on some home work. I was thinking today. The increase in visual stimuli, such as video game realism and movie special effects and the decrease in my imagination seem to be relative. Its weird to think about.. Well its time for me to walk to the train station.  winter you need to go away.

First day of the new internship.

Today was the first day of my internship with Colin Lyons Photography. It was a pretty great day. Dana was actually awake when I woke up. She did however tell me to hit her in the head with something heavy so she could go back to bed so I don't think she was excited as I was that she was awake. 

This photo was taken on my walk to the apartment from the train station. Looks kinda like film noir. All that is missing is a zoot suit. How often is it that you really need a zoot suit........ ALWAYS!

Here is a shirt I made from Die Antwoords video, Evil Boy. If you have not seen that you should it is so funny. I really can't think of anything to write tonight. My brain is lacking any creativity or knowledge that I have had in the past. If my brain were a sponge It would look like a dried up old one that is folded awkwardly because that dirty pan with the burnt on rice that you have been avoiding cleaning has been sitting on it for about a week. Thats right you slob! Do your dishes! AND BUY A NEW SPONGE! 

Photo Studio in a Studio Apartment

I usually set up my little photo studio in my small apartment. after moving all the furniture around setting up the backdrops and the lights I almost don't want to take the photos. but the show must go on. Here is a photograph of my girlfriend who is currently demolishing the worlds supply of avocados. Thats her new fave snack food. Its better than fried chicken. Yeah I'm talking to you Precious. And running while eating is not the same as not eating them. And you stole those!

Two for the price of one!

I walked out of my apartment earlier today to go get some food. As I walked through to quiet park I heard something in a bush. This is what I saw. A hawk (or at least I think that is what it is. I would have to ask my girlfriend's mom. She knows a lot about birds.) eating an other bird. It was kinda sad to see this. I don't really like watching other animals get hurt but then I thought I wouldn't want to see a bird stave to death either. Oh mother nature you are so beautiful and at the same time so dark......um... mother nature.....are you Edgar Allen Poe? 

Pin Hole ..... sounds like a naughty thing to say

I took this bad Larry with a pin hole lens I made for my DSLR. Like I said before. I broke my lens so I had to do something till my new one comes in the mail. I poked a hole in the cap for my camera body. It was prlly like F 1000000 even with a high ISO and flash I still had to use a long shutter speed.

Did you guys hear the batman news? well it could be old. Tom Hardy is going to be Bane. What a bad ass. Did you see him in Inception? He kicked so much ass in snow with out even wearing tennis rackets on his shoes. Also Anne Hathaway is going to be Catwoman. She was pretty sweet in Rachel getting married although I didn't really like that movie. It felt like being at your friends family party where you don't know any one so you just sit awkwardly watching the family drama while thinking "When do they serve dinner?" But the thing is you don't get dinner because it is a movie. The credits roll and you look over at ur kitchen and think "I don't want to make food..ughh.. fuck it Im going to taco bell."

Good News and Bad News

Soo I got the Internship I interviewed for...YAY. I also broke my lens in half...sad news bears. Luckly my gf helped order a new one in time for my volunteer photoshoot this sat. So tonight I am going to attempt to make a pin hole lens out of an old camera body cap I have. This is a photo of the day you will not want to miss. Get ready for some awesome post production sharpening!

This is for today

I can only imagine what people are thinking when they see me point a camera at some guys sleeping on a train. I wonder if i'm the "creepy guy with the camera"? oh well. It's all about the "Shot" right. I picture my self wearing a black turtle neck and a scarf talking to some one in a Starbucks as a take a break from my macbook pro.  If drinking in public was not frowned upon I would make it a drinking game to drink every time you see a macbook at a Starbucks. Considering the amount of Starbucks in the country and the successful subtle advertising by Apple I would prolly have a drinking problem.

I saw this in the public library near by. I know this is not a great photograph by any means. You wouldn't see this hanging on any gallery wall. .....However it does lend itself to this awesome caption: "I thought there could only be one?"

Oxford Owls ...woot

Here are the photos from yesterday. Here is the guitarist (obviously) form Oxford Owls. They are a 3 piece band of owls who all graduated from oxford university.  It was a pretty good show except for all the owl pellets they were spitting every where. For realz I don't want no mouse skeleton in my hairs please.

Oxford Owls update

Hey the oxford owls show went pretty well. I'm so tired and a little bit relieved that I am still alive after being in a car in that weather. Thank you tony for keeping me alive. I'll have the photos uploaded tomorrow after work. This boy needs some shut eye. got to get to my second home.....metra

No Scrubs

 I took this photo hanging out the passenger's side of my best friend's ride. My girlfriend was singing TLC yesterday and now I can't get it out of my head. Good thing all my readers are huge fans of t-boz, left eye and chilli.

I actually did take this out of a window. My girlfriend and I went food shopping today, which was much needed might I add. Water and cheetos is no way to gain nutrients. It is however a great way to have bad breath and pee ever two seconds. 

I can not say I am totally in love with this photo but I think with the right cloud conditions (which was not today) that there could be something here.  Who knows not me I just spend all my money on going to an expensive school for photography ;)

Choo Choo

This is my second home. The Metra. I spend about. 36 hours each month on the train. Thats almost 2 days of my life each month on the train. 18 days a year!!! BAHHHHH I wish I didn't start thinking about this. Actually it is not that bad. I get to read a lot, master my sudoku skills, and some times be a creeper and take photos of people. Like this old chap we got here. What he is doing with his hands is beyond me. NOT HOLDING A GOLD POCKET WATCH OR A BIG FAT CIGAR. Come on Mr. Conductor if your going to look like you just punched Jay Gatsby's ticket you better start acting like it. Ok sport?

Dayum That Photo is Sick!!

Nah its alright. That girl is sick though. My girlfriend is sick right now and she had a damp towel on her head while lying down on the sofa watching TV. Instead of being a good boyfriend and making some soup I took this photo instead. Look how pretty her eyes are. Do you blame me. She sorta looks Arabic and no im not talking about the damp towel looking like a turban. Look at those eyes they are screaming "I hate Merica."

Before I get a bunch of haters here. I don't think all Arabic people hate america. I am Arabic  I do like calling America "Merica".

Old man Rivers

I was struggling with what to photograph today. I got some shots of people walking in the city and a few of some building but none that really stood out. I always hate these days where i feel like a blind person would make a better photographer than myself.

This is a photograph of an older man I saw on my train ride home. I noticed him right when I was about to get off the train. Although I do not think it is going to win me any awards I was pretty pleased for my photo for the day. It is pretty difficult to upload a good photo every day when you see the same stuff every day.

I know there is not anything funny about this post but you know not every post is going to be a winner. so here is a joke.

HOLY ITCHY SWEATER BATMAN!

If you guys havn't noticed I have been making the first letter of every blog larger font then the rest of the body. You always see this in old leather bound books. I like how it looks im convinced authors just did this becuase they could not think of what to write their book about so they took about 5 hours drawing a really fancy large first letter... Doesnt really work typing. plusblogger.com only gives me like 5 fonts to choose from. Non that give justice to my amazing artistic abilities. Im just kidding but for real blogger.com bind my blog in leather some how. give every one a leather computer monitor just for reading my blog cuz im fancy. Yeah Drake I am fancy huh. 

Oh yes the photograph. This is a photo blog after all I should prolly talk a little about that. Sooooooo. This is my kitchen cabinet which is filled with yarn. My girlfriend makes a lot of scarves which actually are not itchy at all. I was having a hard time thinking of a title. And I know what a lot of you are thinking... No I am not dating a grandma...although this 1920 birth certificate I found is raising some questions.. I'm just joshing you. she is young and beautiful. Keep checkin back. I'm planning on doing some studio/fashion type photos and some band photos in the near future that i would actually like some feed back on.

Long cold walk for an eh photo

I took a long walk on my lunch break instead of eating to take a photo of the lake for today. The lake and the sky were the exact same color and tone...doesn't make for a good photo. great sheet of paper though....white.  soooooo instead i got my feetskies all wet walking in snow in dress shoes. not cool. I did find this sculpture thing in a park and inside it was some writings. I liked how it looked just not how my feet felt.

Adoption

Here is a photograph of a young teenage couple who recently gave up their child for adoption. I think the out of focus and motion blur helps add to the mood of the photograph. This is a time of sadness for this young couple. They truly love each other and their daughter but due to their finical situation they felt it was best for their child’s life to give them to a better off family.

I am totally Lying… This is just a photo of an episode of MTV’s Teen Mom. It’s only blurry because it was dark in the room and had to use a long shutter speed. There is another way I can become a famous photographer…just lie all the time. Makes me think that some of the famous photographers from our past probably lied. I’m talking to you Ansel Adams. I bet Yosemite Valley does not even exist!!!!!

Just kidding. Wouldn't that make me a pretty famous photographer though? Van Gogh would have nothing on me. An ear?....pussy.  It's actually just a photo from my hip looking up at me. it was pretty dark thats why its super grainy. I kinda like it though.

Petco L Stop

This photo was taken on my lunch break. I went to the petco near merchandise mart to get some things for my pet rat. I was waiting at the L stop for what seemed for ever. The man on the left just looked down the track and quickly turned around and let out a big sigh while the guy on the right seem to be completely absent minded about the lateness of the train. It seemed as if he didn't care. It pretty much summed up how i was feeling. Annoyed at how long the train was taken and, while not eager to get back to work I didn't really care if the train never came. 

BK. Bonkey Kong... I mean Burger King.

I took this photo out of frustration. I walked about 5 or 6 blocks from my office to go to a Burger King for one of their veggie burgers only to find out that it was now an "Al's Beef." Needless to say they did not have any veggie burgers there. No worries there was one only a few blocks further....nope. That was now a bank. Apparently don't buy stock in BK.

The Gourd

My girlfriend and I gave this gift as a "white elephant" gift for this year's X-Mas. After making this and seeing it get traded by my family members we decided that we must get it back. Now our little friend here sits above our stove and if he had a mouth I am sure he would smile at us every morning when we fry eggs.
